Get to Know Rob
Rob is originally from Greeneville, TN. He is an Entrepreneur and Active Duty Aviation Officer in the United States Army. Currently assigned to the Assault Helicopter Battalion in the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade in Fort Bragg, NC. He graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2014 and an honor graduate of U.S. Army Flight School XXI in early 2016.
In 2010 Rob founded Explosive Power & Speed to offer athletic training equipment directly to consumers. While in high school he seized the opportunity to venture into an industry that featured a low number of competitors, selling equipment that he used to increase his own athleticism. During its operating years, Rob served as the visionary and leader for the company. Running the company on his own as a full time student (West Point and Flight School), Rob grew sales to over $45,000 by 2015. His products have been purchased by major gyms and schools such as D1 Sports Training, Legend Fitness, The University of Arizona, and Appalachian State. Rob signed partnerships with online retailers Eastbay, Sports Unlimited, and Epic Sports. At the end of 2015 with AthleteEquip in full development, Rob decided to divest the company to focus on his next startup.
Rob attended West Point from 2010-2014, where he majored in Economics with a focus in Computer Science. He played Wide Receiver for the Army Team during the 2011 and 2012 seasons seeing action against Tulane in 2012. After the 2012 season Rob decided to stay with the team as student assistant coach for Wide Receivers. Currently Rob has been trusted to command over 20 Officers, Noncommissioned Officers, and Enlisted Personnel as well as manage a property book valued at over $85,000,000 including five UH-60M Helicopters in Fort Bragg, NC. He is responsible for supporting the Ground Force Commander in Decisive Air Assault Operations. Additionally he serves as Battalion Container Control Officer trusted with inspecting, tracking, and servicing over 200 containers throughout the Battalion valued in excess of $2,000,000 and managing a team consisting of 12 personnel.
Rob’s experience on the football field, in the weight room, working with coaches, and passion for enhancing physical performance have come together in AthleteEquip. He managed all phases of the production process including research, feasibility, conceptualization, building the development team, design, and implementation. As the leader and founder of the company he is responsible for sales, marketing, brand growth, future development, and all company operations.
In 2014 Rob married Molly Jones Wright. His personal interests include aviation, golf, business, and entrepreneurship.
